My Story

​Yusi Liu is a composer, music scorer, and educator who graduated from New York University (NYU) with a major in Film Scoring. Her music spans films, animations, and games, blending modern and traditional elements to create a distinctive sense of storytelling and emotional depth.

Her film scores have been featured on platforms such as Netflix and Bilibili, and have been selected for major international film festivals, including the New York Film Festival, Sweden International Film Festival, San Diego Film Festival, Seattle Film Festival, and Mexico International Film Festival. Her game scores have been released on Steam and selected for the Seattle Indie Game Expo. In addition, her film music has been recorded by Prague Orchestra Scoring, and her jazz compositions have been broadcast on KNKX Seattle Jazz Radio.

As an educator, Yusi has over ten years of teaching experience, specializing in composition, music theory, and RCM & ABRSM exam preparation, as well as mentoring students for composition competitions and creative projects. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes creativity and independent thinking, combining technical training in composition, orchestration, modern harmony, and rhythm to help students develop their own musical voice and artistic expression.

Yusi believes that music education is not merely about technical mastery — it is about awakening imagination, deepening understanding, and finding one’s own way to express the world through sound.

作为教育者，刘昱思拥有十年音乐教学经验，长期教授作曲、音乐理论、RCM 与 ABRSM 考级课程，并指导学生参加各类作曲比赛与艺术项目。她的教学理念注重启发学生的创造力与独立思考，课程结合作曲技巧、配器、现代和声与节奏训练，帮助学生在学习中逐步建立属于自己的音乐语言与艺术表达。

她坚信，音乐教育不仅是技术的传授，更是激发想象力、理解世界与表达自我的重要途径。
